The summer seminar, “The Foundation of Christian Ministry,” will run weekly from July 8 to August 5, every Tuesday from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM PST. This five-week series will feature distinguished speakers—such as Dr. Scott Hagan, Prof. Steven Hernandez, Rev. Robby Kagarise, Dr. Teresa Reiger, and Dr. Daniel Day—who will address core ministry topics including leadership, discipleship, evangelism, prayer, and good works/servanthood. Designed to equip and inspire, the seminar provides a solid biblical and practical foundation for impactful Christian ministry. Join us!

*US students can use this class for 3 credit hours towards any SUM degree for $200. SUM’s internationally adjusted rates apply to this class.‍

Course Description

This course will explore the biblical and theological basis for Christian ministry, examining its origin, purpose, and essential practices. Rooted in Scripture and shaped by the example of Christ, this course will consider the servant-hearted nature of ministry and the spiritual disciplines that sustain it. Students will also reflect on their personal calling and the foundational virtues—such as humility, obedience, and faithfulness—that form the character of a true minister.
