ABHE Public Notice: The ABHE Commission on Accreditation has placed SUM Bible College and Theological Seminary (CA) on warning in light of the Commission on Accreditation’s judgment that the institution marginally complies with the following ABHE Institutional Accreditation Standards: Standard 1: EE 2 (Demonstrated fulfillment of applicable Commission policies and requirements as demonstrated by complete and timely communication with the Commission).

The institution retains accredited status with ABHE during this period of warning and will be subject to periodic monitoring, which may include progress reports and/or focused visits by Commission on Accreditation staff or evaluation teams. If weaknesses are not resolved within the time specified (usually one year), the Commission on Accreditation may (1) extend the warning for a second year, (2) place the institution on probation, (3) order the institution to show cause why its accreditation status should be continued, or (4) withdraw accreditation status. Warning is rarely extended beyond two years.

SUM Bible College and Theological Seminary is accredited by the Association for Biblical Higher Education Commission to grant certificates and degrees at the Associate, Baccalaureate, and Master’s level.

ABHE provides the best option for maintaining high academic standards while also sharing the Christian faith. Their Accreditation Standard on Institutional Integrity requires institutions to be honest and open with its compliance regarding accrediting, licensing and governing bodies.

In acknowledgment of a satisfactory institutional self-study and evaluation team visit, the Commission on Accreditation reaffirmed until 2031 the accredited status of SUM Bible College and Theological Seminary with all the rights, privileges and honors that pertain to it. This is the longest possible term of re-accreditation that the ABHE confers.
