HOLD YOUR POSITION: HIS FAITHFUL TESTIMONY

by Pastor John Francis

13 But even if we are faithless, he will still be full of faith, for he never wavers in his faithfulness to us!

2 Timothy 2:13 The Passion Translation (TPT)

The greatest hope we can hold onto during times of trial, complexity, great concern, or uncertainty, is the faithfulness of Jesus. Often in the culture we live in, we can turn our focus away from faith and turn toward that which speaks the loudest. His provisions of the past can become forgotten. We look to the voice that speaks the loudest and begin to believe the reports of another source that calls us to retreat. Here is a trustworthy report that calls deep within our spirit from the Spirit of our creator, redeemer, and Father. It is the call to His value system and His priorities. It is a call from deadness to life. It is a call to flow from victory not defeat. It is a call to true freedom where the soul can rest in His provision. It is the call to say yes when everything in our natural man screams “no, just retreat”.

11 They conquered him completely through the blood of the Lamb and the powerful word of his testimony. They triumphed because they did not love and cling to their own lives, even when faced with death.

Revelation 12:11 The Passion Translation (TPT)

To truly live is to experience the power of Christ in every area of our lives. To truly live is to experience the power of Christ rising up within us to say, “Yes” to His desire. Jesus came and gave us an overcoming spirit. I have discovered in the middle of my faithless no, He has a faithful YES to pull me forward. His position has not changed. He desires me to discover Him living on the inside in the impossible. It is His Faithful Testimony living with us! Let’s live by His faithful Testimony.

THE POWER OF TESTIMONY

As a young minister, I was taught to live from the voice of God’s Spirit within me and His living Word. It did not come from the latest and greatest strategy nor “7 Easy Steps to Hear God”. It came in the chambers of the secret place of prayer and the Word. I share this story, for it is His story worked out in me about His nature! One night after speaking to teenagers I came home hungry. I looked across the street and saw the town’s pizza parlor with the sign of $5 a pie. I reached into my pocket and had $4.90. A dime short! I shared with the Lord my prayer. (really complaint) of being hungry and not having food. Immediately the thought came to my mind, go tell the owner you lost a dime on the way over. This was a lie and trap to keep me from God’s provision and truth to provide for myself. I rejected the thought and immediately I had the impression go upstairs in the attic. I didn’t even know there was an attic in the church parsonage. Here is the power of His testimony. At the top of the stairs was one dime. God was teaching me about His generous nature. Teaching me to say YES to Him. As a more “mature” Christian now, at times in my faithlessness I have forgotten the joy I had in that moment. A childlike joy of my Father’s provision. “Much Bigger” tests do not negate His FAITHFULNESS. He is faithful to reveal His Nature!
