Dr. Page Brooks serves as Lead Pastor of Canal Street Church, a multi-ethnic fellowship in New Orleans, LA. He is also the President of the Restoration Initiative for Culture and Community, a non-profit community development institute that promotes reconciliation in the urban area. Dr. Brooks studied at New Orleans Baptist Theological and also completed studies at the University of Stellenbosch (South Africa). Currently he is conducting postdoctoral research at the Vrije University of Amsterdam. His areas of research and writing include theology, culture, urban studies, and Islamic studies. Dr. Brooks has also served as a church planter and Army chaplain, serving one tour in Iraq. He is married to Dr. Ashley Brooks, a Christian counselor, with whom he has three adopted children: Karis, Alethia, and Josiah. He serves as SUM’s Theology Department Chair.
