SUM Bible College & Theological Seminary, Anytime Anywhere.
SUM Online Bible College and Theological Seminary offers online anytime and anywhere classes through our online synchronous platform but is now adding a new delivery system called SUM Anytime-Anywhere (SUM-AA).
Synchronous courses are delivered through Zoom video conferencing. Classes are held at a scheduled time each week, normally for 2 hours 45 minutes. Students are online with their professor during this time for lecture, class discussion, and guidance on assignments.
This is a great system for those who can schedule their time to allow for regular class sessions each week. But if your schedule does not allow for that, you might opt for the Anytime-Anywhere delivery system.
SUM Online Bible College and Theological Seminary is excited to announce its new online flexible delivery model, Anytime Anywhere (SUM-AA). Now offering three of our degree programs through this model online.
Course sections are delivered with the same quality as synchronous courses but allow for more flexibility with each student’s schedule.
Students receive two hours of highly engaging, student-centered learning video content each week plus 30 minutes with their instructor online in groups of five students at a time.
The 30-minute weekly streaming sessions are for coaching and mentoring and students can choose from a few different times offered by the instructor.
Students are also encouraged by our qualified mentors and advisors throughout the program. The relationship between the mentor and student is built upon mutual trust and respect.
A mentor’s role is to encourage and to hold students accountable in the areas of Academics, Spiritual Development, Relationships, Financial Integrity, and Personal Development. A strong mentor is vital in helping a student develop the disciplines for life-long ministry.
Each trimester, students will enroll in courses as well as put their education into practice in real-life ministry situations. We call these courses practicums for 1st and 2nd-year students and internships for 3rd-year students.
Our goal is to ensure that our graduates are equipped both academically and practically for their futures in ministry. All students do their practicum at their local church or ministry setting.
Accreditation is a process that institutions go through to show the quality of what they have to offer. Students with degrees from schools that hold national, regional, or program-specific accreditations after graduation have an advantage because future employment, education, or career advancement opportunities may be possible because of their school’s standing.
Our national accreditation is through the Association for Biblical Higher Education (ABHE). Our regional accreditation is through WASC Senior College and University Commission (WASC). To learn more about our accreditations, click here.
SUM offers quality theological education at a low cost. Our goal is for you to graduate with little to no debt, allowing for immediate ministry work upon graduation. Our Bachelor’s degrees cost less than what one year at traditional colleges would and can be completed in three years with no previous coursework and less if you have completed courses at another accredited institution. Our accelerated three year degree allows for our students to spend less money overall and launch into ministry faster.
