International Students are required to meet all admissions standards for SUM. Before an I-20 form can be issued from the College, the following items are required.
1. Normal application procedures:
a. Application (including application fee) b. References c. Health forms d. Official school transcripts: High School, and (College-if attended) e. Photo f. Testimony g. Essay answering the question, "According to the New Testament, how did Jesus lead?" h. Housing Fee (if needed) i. Interview (an I-20 will be issued upon acceptance)
2. Submit annual financial certification showing financial sponsorship for the duration of the academic program. 3. International students, in order to be considered for admission to SUM, must first apply to a Bible college within their own country. A copy of that application must accompany the SUM application. 4. Students for whom English is not their native language are required to submit scores for the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) and submit their scores to the Admissions Office. A score of at least 550 is required for admission.
4. Submit payment in United States dollars to cover full costs of the first academic year.
5. Married students must be accompanied by their spouse, and children.
6. Normal satisfactory academic progress must be maintained in order to continue student status in the college.
7. Students will be enrolled in the normal class load required for the academic program. 8. Notification must be made to the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service of any change of an international student's status.
