Distance Education

SUM's Distance Education/Online Program

SUM's distance education uses the internet to provide live two-way classroom interaction. To enhance this educational experience, SUM helps students organize into study groups which voluntarily meet at locations provided by ministries around the country. SUM refers to these voluntary self-study-group locations as "Cohort Sites.*" The cohort sites provide free internet access, a study room, and all the needed equipment for SUM's students. The classroom facilities are donated by a local church. SUM's students are encouraged to participate in the sponsoring cohort site's ministry for their experiential ministry requirements. To see if a voluntary cohort study group (cohort site) is near you, contact SUM's online advisers. SUM's current cohort sites are listed below as links. These links provide the contact information and a list of distinctives for these ministry cohort sites. Students who are not near a cohort site must have high speed internet access to attend their live online classes.

These Cohort Sites are currently available for SUM students with another 20 to be announced in the near future

*A cohort site is a location provided by a church for the free use by SUM students who voluntarily gather for interactive online education. Churches donate the use of these facilities to SUM's students as a ministry outreach to enhance the educational experience of its students. SUM extends its appreciation to the churches who donate the use of their facilities to SUM's students.
