Campus Days/Preview Week

People interested in SUM are encouraged to attend Campus Days/Preview Week at SUM. Visitors are welcome at any time. There are opportunities twice a year for visiting and experiencing college and ministry life at SUM. Call New Orleans (800) 385-6364, Oakland (888) 567-6174.

English Requirement

Before registration, incoming students are required to take an English placement exam. Those students needing remedial work are required to complete English Foundations before enrolling in English Composition 1.

Transfer Students

Transfer students from other colleges are required to complete the SUM application. Rather than submitting high school transcripts, college transcripts are acceptable. If a transfer student has completed English 101 (Composition 1), he/she is not required to take the English placement exam.

Evaluation of Transfer Credits

1. Comparison will be made from a catalog's calendar, course description, credits, and accreditation status.

2. A minimum grade of C is required for transfer credits.

3. Courses that can be transferred must be similar in content to the course offered at SUM.

4. SUM must receive an official transcript from the applicant's college.
