Educational Goals

Graduates of School of Urban Missions should be able at a recognized associate collegiate level to:

1. Express, by using the Bible as the standard for faith and conduct, their fulfillment as whole persons with emphasis on spiritual, intellectual, cultural, physical, and emotional development.

2. Communicate with tested competence, both in oral and written form, the entire scope of the Christian message.

3. Demonstrate development as whole persons, spiritually, mentally, and physically by making reference to records which give comparative evidence of progress.

4. Perform skilled research, study independently of others, and display scholarly habits.

5. Answer the great directional questions of life: Who am I? Why am I here? Where am I going? Who am I in Christ?

6. Implement the practical dimensions of biblical Christianity in everyday life.

7. Possess maturity as well as the ministerial and theological skills to establish urban ministries.

Professional Goals

A student who graduates with the Associate of Arts with a major in Urban Missions should be able to:

1. Effectively pray, evangelize, and communicate the life-changing message of Jesus Christ in a way that is relevant to an urban culture.

2. Use various methods of biblical interpretation to derive accurate meaning of the biblical text.

3. Develop quality sermon materials and effectively preach and teach the Gospel.

4. Qualify for ministerial credentials from a recognized church body and faith community.

5. Possess a working knowledge, approach, and strategy for successful church planting.
